Question:
I am 43 and interested in a hair transplant to fill in my hairline. So far I do not need any work done on the crown. Is FUE really the better hair transplant technique for working on the front of the hairline or at all? If so, why?

Answer:
I agree that work should be done in the frontal area before the crown area, especially in patients who are younger. It is generally recommended that if the hair loss is occurring in more then one area that includes the hairline and frontal area, the frontal hairline area should be restored first.

As far as the difference between the strip method of hair transplantation and FUE (Follicular Unit Excision) hair transplantation, you can have a very similar result with either technique. I do not agree that either one of the techniques is specifically better for the hairline region.
