Question:
I heard of other procedures like FUT and FIT in transplant procedures offered by various doctors. Are these really just variations on FUE? Could they really be any better?

Answer:
FIT stands for follicular isolation technique and it was described by one specific doctor. That was his way of describing Follicular Unit Excision. Essentially FIT and FUE (Follicular Unit Excision)are the same.

The actual way the follicular units are extracted during both those procedures may be different, so technically they may not be 100% the same but I would say as a concept and as a specific surgical technique they are very, very similar.

FUT stands for follicular unit transplant. That just refers to any transplant that follicular units are used instead of mini-grafts and micro-grafts. Most FUT transplants are done using a strip donor technique.
