Question:
Are there potential risks to transplanting hair to a balding crown before the hair loss has stopped?

Answer:
Yes. Any time hair transplant is performed anywhere (including the crown) in an area where the hair stopped growing, there could be the risk of additional hair loss at a later or future point.

It needs to be explained to the patient in detail that the particular area that the patient is considering having hair restoration in has not lost all of the hair at that point and that there may be additional hair loss in that area and the patient may require additional hair transplantation to the area.
