Here are a few things you can do to keep your hair healthy that are quick, inexpensive and easy!

Don’t Over Wash Hair

The scalp produces oils that keep your hair healthy by protecting it from outside elements like dirt and dust. These oils also keep your hair from drying out. In turn, if you wash your hair every day, it prevents the natural oils on your scalp from doing its job! It is recommended to wait a day or two between hair washes.

Don’t Scratch Scalp When Washing…Massage

When washing your hair, don’t scratch your scalp as this may cause follicles to weaken and fall. Instead, massage your hair to keep circulation going.

Don’t Shower With Very Hot Water!

When we say “don’t use hot water” we don’t mean “take cold showers”. Find a happy medium. Hot water may cause your scalp to dry out and eliminates natural shine! Cooler water will help keep moisture in!

Brushing hair

Brushing your hair is important as it stimulates the blood circulation in the scalp. Be sure to brush from the bottom to top, this will prevent breaking the hair and will untangle it much faster. If hair is tangled be sure to use a wide tooth comb. If your hair is wet, DO NOT BRUSH…but comb hair. Hair stretches and is more prone to breakage when wet.

Hair oil

Using oils on your hair can make hair stronger, beautiful and shiny. Hair oil is a great hair conditioner and good way to protect hair, especially if blow drying or using hot styling products.
