How does curly hair respond to hair transplantation
Published on June 1, 2011

Question:

How does curly hair respond to hair transplantation?

Answer:

Generally curly hair transplantation works out very well.

The hair above the surface of the scalp in a hair restoration procedure that is curly tends to cover more area and appears to be more hair than the number of grafts that were transplanted.  This is in comparison to a patient that has straight hair.

In most cases, I tell patients that straighter hair tends to take more work to acquire coverage in the same area that it would take curly hair to cover that area.
